In a scrappy first half the visitors came to disrupt the game by committing several fouls, but Hyde eventually took the lead on 22 minutes when Andy Pearson headed in an Adam Griffin free-kick despite the best efforts of Michael Lea on the line. Danny Lloyd had a goal ruled out for offside before the equaliser came through captain Danny Meadowcroft who headed home a Lee Mcevilly knockdown. Gareth Evans nearly gave the visitors the lead as he burst through but shot weakly at David Carnell, and Hyde restored their lead soon after half-time when an unmarked Matthew Berkeley headed home another Adam Griffin free-kick. Danny Hall then missed a golden chance to make it 3 but headed wide. The Bay equalised once again when, out of nothing, the lively Evans ran onto a through ball and slipped the ball past Carnell to send the away fans and dugout into raptures. Home manager Gary Lowe’s double substitution paid dividends as Fisher picked up the ball on the left cut inside before curling a beauty past Chris Sanna. Another substitute, Danny Broadbent, had 2 chances to put the game out of sight but first shot wide and then shot weakly at Sanna after going through one-on-one. |
