Hyde were ahead after only 8 minutes when Pratt found space down the left to clip a lofted cross towards the far post which found the head of Lane, the ball nestling into the bottom corner of goal. The visitors had their best spell around the 20-minute mark, keeping the ball for a good 10-minute period but they were just lacking a good final ball to have opportunities at goal, Mewitt only being forced into one notable save on the edge of the area from a Paul Sunderland shot. Hyde made Cheadle pay for the missed opportunities, launching a counter attack which resulted in Benns finishing well inside the area past the outrushing Blain. Just before half time, Dan Turner made it three after McConville played a great ball down the channel for Pratt who crossed into the area for the Hyde number 9 to poke home at the second attempt. The second half saw Hyde have numerous opportunities to add to the score line but saw those chances go begging, either over the bar or wide of goal, when in reality, they should have really found the goal. The final score finished 3-0 to see Hyde into the next round, with their opponents to be confirmed. |
